AVERLIN

About

An independent studio, and open about it.

Averlin is a small, independent web studio. It builds websites for service businesses — electrical and HVAC contractors, roofers, plumbers, low-voltage and security companies, and the established local firms around them.

It is new. There is no decade of agency history here and no roster of past clients to list, so this site does not pretend otherwise. What it offers instead is work you can look at, an approach explained plainly, and direct access to the person doing the building.

The idea behind it is simple: a lot of genuinely good companies are represented online by a site that undersells them. Fixing that is specific, useful work.

Working with one person, on purpose.

On a larger agency project, the person who understood your business in the first meeting is rarely the person who writes the code. Details get lost in the handoffs, and small changes take a week because they have to travel through three inboxes.

Here, the person you talk to is the person designing and building the site. Questions get answered the same day. A wording change takes minutes. Nothing about your business has to be explained twice.

The trade-off is honest: Averlin takes on a small number of projects at a time. If the timing does not work, you will be told that rather than added to a queue.

How the work gets made

Four things that stay constant.

01

Say what the business does

The most common problem is not ugliness. It is a visitor landing on a site and still not knowing whether the company does what they need, in the town they are in.

02

Design for the phone in the driveway

Someone standing outside a house comparing three contractors is the real user. If the site fails that test, the desktop layout does not matter.

03

Earn trust with specifics

Licence numbers, service areas, warranty terms, real project descriptions. Specifics are more persuasive than adjectives, and they are the things a good business already has.

04

Build it light

Fewer scripts, smaller pages, faster loads. Speed is a design decision, and it is one of the few that every visitor notices.

Where this goes next.

Websites are where Averlin starts, not where it stops. The same thinking — work out what a business actually needs, build the simplest thing that does it well — applies to the systems these companies run on: scheduling, quoting, dispatch, the spreadsheet that has quietly become critical infrastructure.

That is why the name is Averlin and not something with "web" in it. For now, though, the offer is deliberately narrow, and this site describes only what is actually on it.
